Good News - 5,000 houses up for grabs

Haryana is set to allay the housing demand in the state and the NCR with affordable housing schemes.

Haryana conceived of an affordable housing scheme on a mass scale in 2013 . And, after facing initial hiccups, the scheme has finally seen the light of the day. With various colonizers offering affordable housing in Sohna, Palwal, Faridabad and several other parts of the state, the scheme is now gaining momentum. According to the scheme, the government would issue licenses to private developers with certain conditions. The maximum allotment rate for the apartment units approved under such projects is Rs 4,000 per sq. ft. of carpet area for projects in the areas of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panchkula, Pinjore, Kalka while across the rest of the state it is Rs 3,600 per sq ft.The flats would be allotted through a draw of lots.

Varun Sharma, MD of MVN, says, “This is for the first time that a policy has been made favorable for real home-buyers, as under affordable policy, builders can claim only the cost of carpet area."

As part of the new scheme, developers are offering constructed, affordable 1 and 2BHK flats of 300-645 sq ft and parking for Rs 12-20 lakh.
